OUR HISTORY

Mt Diablo Mustang Soccer is a non-profit organization. This status allows our local youth soccer club to prioritize player development over profit. This means keeping registration fees accessible, ensuring that financial limitations don’t hinder a child’s chance to excel. Through financial discipline, we can invest in top-notch coaching, equipment, and facilities, creating an environment where every player has the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of background. This focus on inclusivity fosters a strong sense of community, where the love of the game and the pursuit of excellence unite players, families, and coaches alike.

While Mt Diablo Mustang Soccer was only formed in 2024, following a two year affiliation with Diablo Valley Futbol Club, our roots have been firmly entrenched in local youth soccer for more than 40 years.

AYSO: Founded in 1964 by a group of soccer enthusiasts in California, the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) began with just nine teams. Now a national powerhouse with over 600,000 players, AYSO pioneered the concepts of “Everyone Plays” and “Balanced Teams,” ensuring all kids get playing time and fostering a fun, inclusive environment for young athletes. Welcome to the world’s largest soccer club!

Mt Diablo Soccer Association (MDSA) AYSO Region 223 is a volunteer-run youth soccer league serving Clayton, Concord, Walnut Creek, and surrounding areas for over 40 years. They offer recreational and competitive soccer programs for all ages and abilities, emphasizing a fun and positive experience for young players.

Concord AYSO Region 305, is a branch of the American Youth Soccer Organization serving Concord and the surrounding Clayton area. Focused on providing a fun and enriching experience for young athletes, they offer recreational soccer programs for ages 3 to 18, with divisions ranging from introductory Playground leagues to competitive 18U teams. Their “Everyone Plays” philosophy ensures all participants get playing time, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork on the field.

The Pleasant Hill/Martinez Soccer Association (PHMSA) AYSO Region 281 offers recreational soccer programs for children aged 3½ to 18 in Pleasant Hill and Martinez, California. Their programs follow the AYSO philosophies, prioritizing fun, sportsmanship, and player development in a welcoming environment.

AYSO Area 2C is the administrative center of the local East Bay AYSO Regions. Area 2C oversees the local Regions, Alliance Program and EPIC (Special Needs) program, ensuring every player and family can access safe, fun soccer programing.
